going to the uw today to purchase tickets to see the vagina monologues on saturday. i was going to go to the showing tonight, but i'm so exhaused and i would actually really like to enjoy the show! i love the monolgoues. i think they're empowering. i think they speak to all women (and maybe even some men). i think that they inspire us to be open, and to maybe just get over society a bit, so that we can be ourselves. i'm going with my mom. and i think it will be an interesting experience. i'm not sure how she'll take it. she's seen the dvd of eve ensler and some famous actresses reciting the monologues (which was actually very well done and very heavily supported). i hope that it's just as wonderful. i hope that the actors and actresses who will be reciting the monologues will actually embrace it and do it the justice that it deserves. i guess i'm just passionate about this whole v-day thing - but it's been in my life for a good few years now, so i value it. i hope to get there early enough to buy a vagina cookie. i'm really curious as to what those will look like. (i'll take photos!)
someday soon, i'd like to partake in the monologues - one in particular. i hope i get the chance to. maybe 2009 is the year?
